Lady' Circa 1910 Austrian Sterling Guilloche Compact
This is a lovely example of early Austrian sterling silver compacts. It is Circa 1910 and has a beautiful honey color guilloche enamel on the back, front and sides. In the center of the front is a bovine bone raised figure of an elegant lady in a very low cut gown, her hand up to her chin with a whimsical look. The sterling silver circle around the figure has a chaste design which accents the center. The outside silver edge also has a unique design. Both of the inside sections are signed sterling with numbers and hallmarks. The compact measures 3 inches by 31/4 inches. There are light scratches on both the front and back of the guilloche that are commensurate with the age of the piece, please refer to photos. Compacts of this quality are hard to find and this compact is a beautiful example from an elegant bygone era.
