Beautiful Vintage Italian 800 Silver Enameled Compact With Cherub Scene
This is a very beautiful vintage Italian 800 silver compact. The cover is very ornate with an intricate enameled design in light blue and contrasting cobalt blue enameling. The ornate silver design around the border of the cover is accented with deep red jewels. The scene in the center depicts several frolicking cherubs in a very detailed design. The inside retains the original gold wash and is stamped 800 and also stamped Made In Italy, please refer to photos. The hinge is perfect and it closes crisp and clean. It measures 2 ¾ inches wide and 1 inch tall. This is an exceptional compact in excellent condition and a rare Circa 1920's example of Italian art.
